what to choose as a wedding favor
One of the most debated topics for my brides is the choice of wedding favors. I do them, I don’t do them. I think of something useful, will I have liked what I have chosen? First of all, don’t feel obligated to choose a wedding favor for your guests. There are many ways to thank them!
The tradition of wedding favors
Originally the wedding favor was a box to hold the sugared almonds. If you love traditions you must give this reading to your wedding favor. Then choose a box that contains the confetti (sugared almods). The sugared almonds must always be in odd numbers and must start from a minimum of 5 which symbolize fertility, long life, health, wealth and happiness.
what to choose as a wedding favor
1. choose something useful to thank your guests: a soap, a candle, a picture with dried leaves, a plantable pencil, a book, some jams prepared by you and I could go on.
2. If you want to avoid waste, don’t give in to the sugared almonds and favors: create a functional placeholder that remains as a memento for the guests and at the same time is spectacular. A leaf or a bottle of oil is also enough.
3. Take advantage of the spotlight on you to contribute to the knowledge of small craftsmen. I have heard a beautiful story on this subject. A friend of the bride had lost her job and started making fabric cake holders. The bride decided to use them as a thank you for the guests to give her a cheap hand and to advertise her.
Things to know
The delivery of the favors takes place at the end of the evening, during the balls or in any case after the cutting of the cake. You will therefore have to interrupt yourself continuously to give each couple their favor. Are you ready? or you can choose to find a more functional solution. For example, prepare bags with the name of the guests they can take by themselves. If you prefer, someone can deliver them to the place, such as the wedding planner or a hostess.
If you don’t like traditional favors you can prepare a thank you for the guests to be used as a placeholder or as a welcome gift. Something small or easy to handle because they will have to carry it around until the end of the party.
